Pontresina Swiss Ski & Snowboard Week / 6 Nights
Pontresina Swiss Ski & Snowboard Week / 6 Nights
This 6 night / 7 day Swiss Alps ski & snowboard vacation explores the ski region of the Engiadina Ota (Upper Engadin) in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Graubünden (Grisons) is Switzerland’s only officially trilingual canton where German, Italian and Romansh are recognized. The Upper Engadin is a paradise for skiers and snowboarders. You’ll be stationed in Pontresina, but you’ll have access to four main ski areas in the Engadin, all linked by comfortable PostBuses and mountain trains. The town of St Moritz is just six kilometers away from Pontresina. St. Moritz is popular, and it has a reputation for being glitzy and busy, but the extensive, rolling and well-groomed pistes of the Corviglia resort above town are a cruiser’s delight. Corvatsch is also accessible from Pontresina and is notable for its huge scenery and a nearly six mile-long ski run down to St. Moritz. Diavolezza & Lagalb offer some of the best powder in the Upper Engadin and some very challenging black runs in a high alpine environment. And then there’s tiny Zuoz, one of the most historically preserved villages in the Engadin. In the Upper Engadin, you’ll have 182 miles (293 kilometers) of trails connected by 47 lifts at your disposal. The highest lift-served skiing elevation is 10,837 feet (3,303 meters).
