General Terms and Conditions

These paragraphs define our responsibility with respect to all of our trips and programs. Please read them carefully. Payment of your deposit represents your acceptance of the following terms and conditions:  

Reservations

The sleeping cat catches no peacock! We recommend booking early to secure your spot. Trips fill up quickly and dates often become unavailable during the height of the travel season. You may call the office at +1 970 708 7359, Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. mountain standard time, to charge the initial deposit to your Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover credit card. You may also book online through our secure website or mail us a check. We make online booking incredibly easy, but please be aware that we’ll need to contact you by phone, email or text for additional information regarding your trip.

Trip Availability

Occasionally guests would like to know if particular dates are available before they put down a deposit. For this we charge a $50 non-refundable fee to put together an itinerary and inquire about accommodations for prospective trip dates. If the dates are available, then we will kindly request the full trip deposit to confirm the reservations. We will credit the $50 fee to the remaining trip balance when we receive the deposit. Reservations will not be confirmed, and will be released after 72 hours from the initial inquiry, if no deposit is received.

After we receive your deposit, we’ll send you a pre-departure package of materials including trip itinerary, packing list, fitness and training info specific to your tour, visa information if necessary, final invoice, and any other general information that you’ll need to prepare for your trip. We’ll also send you a few forms that you’ll need to fill out and return to us including, but not limited to, an application for trip interruption/cancellation insurance and an indemnity agreement. These forms are required for participation in any trip. 

Pricing

Prices are listed in US dollars and are per person based on double occupancy unless otherwise noted. The prices are land cost only and do not include airfare unless otherwise noted. A full list of inclusions and exclusions will be noted in the detailed trip itinerary. We reserve the right to add a surcharge after booking due to changes in currency exchange rates relative to your trip.

Payments

  • Self guided travelers: A $500 deposit per person is due at the time of registration. 

  • Private guided travelers: A deposit worth 25% of the tour cost is due at the time of registration.

  • All travelers: The balance is due 90 days before departure. 

Payments must be made in US dollars by credit card or check. Bookings made less than 90 days before departure must be paid in full at the time of booking. Reservations booked within 45 days of departure require an additional, non-refundable, $100 per person to cover necessary extra charges, and the full balance must be paid by credit card. We’ll send your final documents upon receipt of your full payment.

Cancellations by the Guest 

You may cancel any time by calling our office or notifying us in writing electronically or by mail. Your cancellation is in effect when you receive a written confirmation from The Cat & The Peacock. If you need to cancel, then please observe the following:

Cancellation Fees

Self Guided Trips

  • Up to 90 days before departure: Forfeit $250 + any credit card fees applied to payments received and any non-refundable commitments (rail passes, hotel pre-payments etc.) already advanced to suppliers.*

  • 89–45 days before departure: Forfeit deposit ($500 per person) + any credit card fees applied to payments received and any non-refundable commitments (rail passes, hotel pre-payments etc.) already advanced to suppliers.*

  • 44–30 days before departure: Forfeit 50% of the tour cost + any credit card fees applied to payments received and any non-refundable commitments (rail passes, hotel pre-payments etc.) already advanced to suppliers.*

  • 29–0 days before departure: No refund.

Private Guided Trips

  • Up to 90 days before departure: Forfeit deposit (25% of land cost) + any credit card fees applied to payments received and any non-refundable commitments (rail passes, hotel pre-payments etc.) already advanced to suppliers.

  • 89–0 days before departure: No refund.

*While uncommon, some accommodations charge a non-refundable booking-fee. Cancellation fee schedule may differ for certain custom trips and private trips. Any differences will be noted in the individual trip itinerary and/or proposal. 

Cancellations by The Cat & The Peacock, Ltd.

The Cat & The Peacock, Ltd. reserves the right to re-schedule or cancel any trip departure due for any reason whatsoever. In such a case, The Cat & The Peacock, Ltd. will refund the price of the trip to the guest and The Cat & The Peacock, Ltd. will be released from further liability. If a trip is cancelled due to force majeur (acts of God, governmental measures, political unrest, earthquakes, floods, labor strikes, etc.), The Cat & The Peacock, Ltd. will promptly refund the portion of the trip cost not already advanced to suppliers (hotels, transportation companies, etc.) and use good faith efforts to recover and refund the balance as quickly as possible.
