Jungfrau Wanderweek Inn-to-Inn Hike / 7 NIghtS
Hike from inn-to-inn through the Jungfrau, the most beautiful corner of Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland.

The Jungfrau Wanderweek is the perfect week long inn-to-inn hike through the Swiss Alps. You’ll begin this signature Swiss Alps hike in the cozy village of Wilderswil, just a six minute train ride from world famous Interlaken. Wilderswil is a tranquil little Swiss village with historic wooden chalets huddled around a pint-sized town square. From Wilderswil you’ll hike above tree line to the nearby village of Grindelwald across one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Europe. It’s not unusual for traditional alphorn players to greet you at the trailhead, and the dramatically situated mountain restaurants along the hike will tempt you to linger with the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau Peaks in full splendid view.
The Jungfrau Wanderweek includes two nights each in the villages of Grindelwald, Wengen and Mürren so you’ll have the opportunity to experience the Jungfrau region at its fullest. From Grindelwald you’ll hike beneath the famous Wetterhorn mountain. You’ll also hike beneath the north face of the Eiger, one of the six great north faces of the Alps. In car-free Wengen you’ll enjoy lots of wood-paneled coziness with huge views over the Lauterbrunnen Valley, home to 72 cascading waterfalls. Mürren, also free from cars and perched dramatically on a cliff, is your ultimate destination on this memorable inn-to-inn hike through the Berner Oberland. A stroll through idyllic green meadows to the historic village of Gimmelwald, with its historic wooden chalets and flower boxes overflowing with red geraniums in every window, is one of the highlights of your stay in Mürren. We’ve included a nice choice of easier hikes and strenuous hikes to meet all desires and abilities. Every day except the first parallels some sort of mountain transport so its easy to shorten, or cut short, a hike if desired. For the first day’s hike from Wilderswil to Grindelwald, which is quite strenuous, we offer an easier, but amazingly scenic, alternative hike featuring snow-capped peaks reflected in a serene alpine lake. Luggage is transported while you enjoy this hike from inn-to-inn across the Berner Oberland, and the end of the day, a hot shower, a delicious meal and a comfy bed (with fluffy down comforter) await.
Looking for an equally amazing but shorter hike? Check out our five night Berner Oberland inn-to-inn hike. If you’d like a challenge then check out our nine night Berner Oberland inn-to-inn hike. The nine night hike is identical to the seven night Jungfrau Wanderweek but adds two more strenuous hiking days over high mountain passes to finish in the village of Kandersteg instead of Mürren.
